Cheap sword1
Wakizaashi no-signature because of shortening work (O-suriage)
Blade length 37.8cm, thickness at the base 5.5mm, width 2.5cm
It is a nice blade with fine steel and bright hamon. However, the tip is
weary.
Steel is fine.
Hamon is made of large particles. It is neat and bright all through the
blade, except for the part around kissaki. Unfortunately, hamon in kissaki
is not perfect. It is worn out in some part. Utsuri appears along the hamon,
and it becomes yubashiri in some parts.
Sketch of the hamon in kissaki
The whole taste of the blade can remind us Enju school in 14th century
or so. It must be a good blade in its original. And still now, we can study
what good quality blade is.
Polishing is fresh, sashikomi style. So you can study the real face of
the blade.
Tang is reshaped by our smith to get a good fit with the habaki.
Simple copper habaki also is newly made.
Newly made shirasaya and bag
