Cheap sword1
Wakizaashi with rust "Ise-no-kami Kuniteru" (fake?)
Blade length 56.5cm, thickness at the base 7mm, width 2.8cm
It is a wakizashi blade with rust. But you can see the fine steel and bright
hamon in some parts by careful studying.
Steel is fine.
Hamon is bright, and steel color is fine. The hamon pattern is well designed
choji.
The blade surface has rust. But the polishing work was nice. Of course,
it is the classical style. It shows the bright hamon and fine steel.
Tang
Signature "Kobayashi Ise-no-kami Kuniteru"
Ise-no-kami Kuniteru is a famous smith in Osaka, 17th century. But of course,
this is not the smith. This blade looks from 19th century. So the possibility
is fake signature or later generation of Kuniteru linage. We judged it
fake, though.
Habaki : Silver foiled.
Scabbard and damaged handle. They are originally made for the blade. But
tsuba is missing.
This pitiful conditioned blade is good for persons who is practicing sword polishing. If you have enough knowledge and proper skill, it could turn to a nice blade.
Tsuba is added. It is a shape of Japanese plum flower (ume). The thickness
is OK. But the tang hole is larger than the tang. You should fix the tang
hole of the tsuba putting small pieces of copper.
