Cheap Sword 5
Wakizashi in poor condition

Blade length 52.4cm, thickness at the base 7mm, width 3.0cm

This is a wakizashi blade in poor condition. The age may be from 15 - 16th century, because the blade character shows typical style of that age. It looks like Mino blade, but we are not sure about the school or smith.

Steel has a wood grain layer pattern.

Hamon is an active pattern. And it has a neat and bright temper line. Kinsuji and sweeping pattern also appear around the hamon.

Condition is horrible. There are many scratches on the blade surface. And some acid treatment also is done on it. Fortunately the blade shape is not very damaged. Of course, some shaping work also is necessary, though. It could turn to a nice blade by proper re-polishing work.

Tang
It is originally no-signature.

Habaki is double, made of copper. The gold on it is almost worn out.

Shirasaya and bag

We recommend this for amateur polishers. It is suitable for apprentices who are practicing polishing.
