Sword mount 8
Blade: much shortened (O-suriage)
blade length 52.3cm
Wakizashi style mount
We designed the mount considering the age around 16th century, because
it is the time probably the blade was shortened.
The metal fittings are not sophisticated, but the mount makes a taste of
that age in total designing.
The fuchi is an antique around 16th century. It is made of unrefined copper.
Many rabbits are designed on it. The kashira is made of buffalo horn applied
with urushi lacquer.
The menuki is a silver copy of old one.
The silk cord on the handle is hardened with urushi lacquer.
The tsuba is made of bronze (casting copper). It is from 16th century or
older. There are many chrysanthemum on it.
